Oh my God! I have never tried anything like this before. This dish just became my favorite food! It is a complete meal. I mean, rice, beef, and vegetable? It doesn’t get any better than that! I just learned about this incredible recipe. I was looking for new and easy recipes that I can try at home. This was the 3rd recipe that I saw. It was love at first sight! I love that it already has rice in it, kind of like Paella. It also has my favorite vegetable which is cabbage and beef. Yeah, beef! I don’t know about you but this for me is the definition of a perfect meal! I am sure that your mouth is watering right now so give this one a try and enjoy!
2 teaspoons olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
1 pound ground beef I use 90% lean
1 onion finely diced
2 teaspoons minced garlic
4 cups coarsely chopped green cabbage
2 carrots peeled, quartered and sliced
4 cups beef broth
3 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
1/2 cup uncooked long-grain rice
1 bay leaf
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons parsley
HOW TO MAKE CABBAGE ROLL SOUP
Step 1: Place a large pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 2 Add olive oil and allow it to become hot enough.
Step 3: Add the ground then season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4: Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the color becomes brown. Use a spatula to break the ground beef.
Step 5: Toss in the chopped garlic and onion and saute’ for another 2 to 3 minutes or until aromatic and translucent.
Step 6: Pour in the beef broth then add the carrots, cabbage, tomato sauce, brown sugar, rice, and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper if necessary.
Step 7: Turn down the heat then cook and simmer for 25 minutes until the rice is cooked and soft.
Step 8: Remove the bay leaf then sprinkle with parsley.
Step 9: Serve and enjoy!
