Cheesy Baked Asparagus

Cheesy Baked Asparagus

A perfect brunch or weeknight side dish. This tender asparagus with creamy cheese sauce is loved by everyone! The kids will love to eat their veggies with cheese, and adults will salivate over these greens. A super easy and the quickest side to make. Goes with anything; chops, steak, chicken, even with egg and bacon for breakfast or with mashed potato! And because it’s so good, I eat them as is. Melty cheese, buttery goodness with a delightful house seasoning. This cheesy baked asparagus is amazing, even my picky eaters love this. A must keep recipe.

My youngest never ate any vegetables since I can remember. We tried, we beg just for him to even taste one. One day, I went home and found some asparagus in the fridge. Normally, I just boil them (lazy me) but I thought why not spice things up. Good thing I did because my youngest, curious as a mouse, he was tempted to taste it. Now, this is his favorite side dish.

INGREDIENTS

1 bunch of asparagus, woody ends trimmed

3 tablespoons butter, melted

1/2 teaspoon my house seasoning (equal parts garlic powder, onion powder and pepper…combine and store in an airtight container)

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Italian seasoning

How to make Cheesy Baked Asparagus

Step 1: Using a tinfoil, line a baking sheet.

Step 2: Then, put the asparagus on the prepared baking dish and drizzle with the melted butter.

Step 3: Sprinkle the asparagus with the house seasoning and Parmesan cheese.

Step 4: Place the dish inside the oven and bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

Step 5: After 15 minutes, remove the dish from the oven and top with mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle over a bit of Italian seasoning.

Step 6: Place the baking sheet back into the oven and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and begin to brown.
