Double Chocolate Coca Cola Cake

This just made my day extra special! My best friend surprised me with this amazing cake as a gift for my birthday. I loved it that’s why I immediately asked for the recipe. She was gracious enough to give me this recipe. It is a perfect combination of moisture and sweetness. It is not your typical cake that has chocolate in it. I never thought that Coca Cola would be so awesome as well in a cake. Give this one a try and find out for yourself. I hope you all enjoy this amazing cake. Enjoy!

Ingredients

1 cup Coca Cola

1/2 cup oil

1 stick butter

3 tablespoons cocoa

2 cups of sugar

2 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla

For the Frosting

1 stick butter

3 tablespoons cocoa

6 tablespoons of cream or milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 3/4 cups confectioner’s sugar

How to make Double Chocolate Coca Cola Cake

Step 1: Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 2: Add in the oil, cocoa, and Coca Cola right away. Allow the mixture to boil.

Step 3: In a large bowl, add the flour, sugar, and salt. Stir until well mixed.

Step 4: Turn the heat of the stove. Transfer the hot Coca Cola mixture into the flour mixture. Beat until well mixed.

Step 5: Add in the buttermilk, soda, vanilla, and eggs. Beat until well blended.

Step 6: Apply cooking spray in a 13 x 9-inch.

Step 7: Transfer the mixture into the greased baking pan.

Step 8: Place the baking pan into the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

Step 9: Remove the baking pan from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack to cool for at least 10 minutes before spreading the frosting.

To make the Frosting
Step 1: Place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 2: Add in the butter, milk, and cocoa.

Step 3: Allow the butter to melt then remove from the stove.

Step 4: Add in the rest of the ingredients.

Step 5: Spread the frosting over the warm cake.

Step 6: Serve and enjoy!
