How to make Hamburger Steaks With Onion Gravy
Step 1: Mix the beef, egg, bread crumbs, 1 package of soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce in a large bowl.
Step 2: Shape the beef mixture into 8 individual balls and flatten into patties.
Step 3: In another bowl, mix the flour and pepper.
Step 4: Dip the patties into the flour mixture.
Step 5: Over medium-high heat, heat a large skillet and fry the patties for 4 minutes each on both sides. Transfer the cooked patties onto a platter.
Step 5: Heat oil in the same pan and saute the onions for about 10 minutes until translucent.
Step 6: Stir the rest of the flour mixture into the onions to coat.
Step 7: Then, mix the broth and the remaining onion soup. Add into the onions and mix well.
Step 8: Place the patties back into the pan, cover, and reduce the heat to low.
Step 10: Let it simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes until the beef is thoroughly cooked. Make sure to occasionally stir so the gravy will not stick or clump to the bottom of the pan. This will accommodate 8 servings per recipe.
